watched hero with some of my cgmates this morning, and i really enjoyed it. reminded me of my growing up days watching jap dramas and how much i've come to love them. i like the way the movie made alot of references to the original drama, cause i like the familiarity of it all. i like it when each story has got a moral behind it, just like every single episode of hero had a moral behind it.
the characters are v likeable, kimura's my fav jap actor and lee byung hun is my fav korean actor.. so \^_^/ yay! haaa i love all the characters kimura plays, kuryu kohei's unique air, him coming to work in jeans, his orange jacket, his turtleneck and leather jack when he appears in court. *faints* i like kimura+ matsutakako combi.. since love generation donkey years ago.. lee byung hun appeared for a few pathetic minutes, i wish there were more of him in the show.. but his voice is so distinctive, i cud recog it from the phonecalls he makes w his collegues, way before he appeared on screen haaa..
the minor characters were the original from the drama, with the chief looking like prof pho, the judge with his endearing eyebags, the prosecutor in charge of corruption looking like dr T.loh, and tamori-san! haaa when he appeared as the bad guy, i cudnt help but laugh cause i rem him from his music station days where he's damn funny.. but this time the bad guy wasnt a funny guy, but i still cant help but laugh at him n his shades.

a pity that they didnt use back the ending ost of the hero drama.. otherwise the ending would have felt complete :)

today was the first time i saw an autopsy, i only looked on from the viewing gallery cause my turn to go in is tmr. the 2 sentences from the chorus of this song came to me.. after watching the whole process of evisceration and returning the viscera back in, it feels like our body just a transient hollow "luggage" containing us, or bits of us. and when a person passes on, what's left behind feels kind of empty. feels abit sad too, cause on one side of the door i watched the autopsy of this patient, and on the other side of the door i see his family gathering, looking distraught, i saw resemblance of him in this guy on the other side of the door (not sure if i imagined it) life is short transient n precious. towards the end, there's an uncanny resemblance to the beginning, family medicine taught me the phrase, "from cradle to grave". birth and death are these 2 miraculous transition time zones that defines our existence in this world, with respect to the people ard us, only they can prove that we've been here.

came bk from timbre not too long ago.. tonight's interesting cause i went there w a gp of frens whom i've never drank together before.. there was da-ren, wx, james, daniel n felicia, our dutch exchange student fren. but it's a pity timmy's not playing there anymore.. they're replaced by the goodfellas.. hai they are not too bad, but nothing is as good compared to timmy.. who me n ser n many frens have been watching since 1-2yrs bk? i'll miss ser's fav lead singer, and him saying strange not-so-funny stuff, i'll miss fat-face-skinny-limbs' unassuming demeanour on stage, already missed the garfield lookalike guy called garfield i think, the new spikeyhair bass guitarist.. n long-hair drummer? he's too much in the bkground so i cant rem much.. haa timbre's got these plastic red/white shelter over the top and blked my view of the nice crowns of the trees that the place has grown around.. dont tink it'll ever be the same again.

i've been very tired lately due to my screwed up sleep wake cycle everyday... 8pm-2am is my usually sleep time and i feel abit maladjusted... now that dr ER-LEE told us that we cant go africa anyway.. i kinda makes me feel abit strange and confused... abit unsure where we will be going from here.. but hope everything will go well in the end for us :)
patho feels very daunting and all these OSCAs and tutors have time and again proven that i cant rem much of those stuff i've studied for in yr 2.. but i must say it has gotten alot more interesting after clinical exposure, such that we correlate much better with our patients' conditions...
i just need to find the strength and energy to stay calm and study haaa and my writeups!!!!

today was an exciting day cause i got to scrub up for an wedge excision of L lobe of thyroid. then we had class foto! for the first time in 4 yrs and it felt like we were bk in sec sch/jc again.. haaa then as we were leaving nuh, kx n yw spotted a patient trying to leave nuh w/o slippers or anything else on him except the ward baju. it was an exciting experience we my frens trying to stall him frm running away and some of us walking ard the nuh compound to look for security guards tt care enough to do something.. then there was zai nurse frm gynae onco clinic w ard 5 sentences managed to convince uncle to go bk to hosp w her.. wheew then there was good food w our special fren muriel, me py dawn kx yw @ maxwell market yummy! and walking by PLAY - the memorable place and coming home.. i'm so tired and behind for my ENT reading! and after popping an antihistamine.. i wont be staying awake for too long haaa

haha i've finally finished the series on tudou.. despite the bad ratings and review that i've heard abt GooogS, i actually quite enjoyed the show.. the first look at the cast wasnt impressive at all, but i think they're actors and actresses that ll grow on u.. as u watch the characters in the drama, i actually changed my opinion of them.. think they're pretty good.
the storyline wasnt as interesting or funny or romantic as Goong, but i kinda like the contests the princes gotta go thru to become the next in line for the throne..

meeting up w 405mates for lunch was nice.. and Playhouse was fantastic.. i really enjoyed myself and kept laughing thruout our whole play.. think our M4 batch is really cool and the ideas were damn creative and funny. great job guys! i'm so proud of u guys.. haaa

went to check out timbre @ the arts house w xiangyun last night.. cause we went early enough, we got this nice comfy sofa seat in front of the band.. the light breeze and the singapore river made it a pretty nice place to chill out. our roasted duck pizza was really nice, which was a pleasant surprise and me n my dear pengyou since our single-digit-age days had a good time just talking and enjoying our drink. heard abit of EIC, the band tt comes on saturdays.. not too bad :) and we actually ran into the Halloween bus crowd! they're so cool.. there was MARIO! elvis random ghosts vampires injuredpple haaa the crowd was v interesting and we wished we were at some halloween party too. then we had our nice milk before heading home..

last day of hols.. i'll miss it :'(

this is a book i bought for myself using the kino vouchers i got as birthday present, as ser recommended it to me.. cause she think i would like it.
i did enjoy the book.. it's interesting enough till the end, i like the idea of Shinamoto-san being such a mysterious lady and till the end of the story i was really wondering were did she go to, who is she, what kinda life does she lead? the idea of his little jazz bar at aoyama is nice, wish i could visit there and try one of his cocktails :) she likes diaquiri (like ah tan n me). this book being a translation of a jap novel, sometimes i could just imagine how bits of their conversation would sound like in japanese.. haa maybe i should find the jap version to look at the choice of words..

i've just got home not too long ago from a judogirls night out.. first time i'm drinking w all of them! from fajitas to burritos to chimichangas tt i tried today, i enjoyed my chimichanga! ;)altho it's kinda pricey.. and we drank to our fill w margaritas, and tried the la cucaracha and mars bar!! yummy hee
then we head off to LUNAR haa.. the red chairman mao upstairs is real cute! :) oh my tian.. my first time in a mandopop place.. it was q an interesting experience, and we kinda converted it to a mini kbox session by singing along w all the concert clips they screened before the shanghai-night performances started.. damn cheena.. the drinks are pretty jialat but i shant complain, cause free entry and one free drink for each of us so we hang out there w/o paying a single cent..

it's been such a long time since we got such good attendance.. too bad huiyi cudnt join us.. realize hope much i miss my judogirls.. must go out soon! :)

i have had alot of fun this wk.. there was dinner w sangyu on sunday.. i had a great time catching up w laoxu whom i hafnt seen for ages.. we always have fun together.. her line of the evening was: "you decide la, this is you country!" haa
there there was 8hrs of kbox w kx n yw.. it was v shiok haa altho we got abit tired and dint go do money earning surveys that day and i was late for piano class :p
swimming w manny n carol yest, playing w the SLIDE and jacuzzi (i haf TWO legs! woohoo!!) and sitting under a mushroom were fun!! miss them so much, but i'll see them a while. :D then there was a stayover w huay and us going to zouk last nite.. altho we dint stay for long, but it was pretty fun la.. met one of my cgmates too! :)

I never wondered where one of our favourite lines, "Life is too short for____" came from. But I was pleasantly surprised when i picked up an old dusty sec 1 literature text to read today. So this was where it came from, where it was ingrained in our young impressionable 13-year-old minds.

today's osce was scary... the palpitations and chest tightness that i get before exams can get quite traumatizing but during the exam all u can do is keep thinking abt wat to say, before u open the clinic door and instantaneously turn into a professional and competent doctor who manages a patient. and well u can feel hungry as well, cause my stomach kept growling. the osces are very practical as they are exactly wat docs do in clinics and delivery suites.. but all i can feel abt my performance is that i need to work alot harder cause i still have a really long way from becoming a true and competent doctor. one more week. 3 more days of exams and FINALLY my long awaited hols. good luck to all my frens taking exams next wk!
