CHEERS! w strawberry cream liquere~*
it's pretty dark at night at the beach.
i guess darkness exists for the moon and the stars :)
and we got to see 2 episodes of fireworks in the distance.. beautiful!
yummy icecream at the new zealand icecream place followed by lotsa of Taboo playing
haaa we had alot of fun!

haaa they used to b such a hugh part of my sunday mornings for 2-3 yrs now tt they've graduated n moving on to the next phase of their lives.. i'm happy to meet up w them..
they got me a bouquet of flowers.. so pretty! love the pink roses :)
altho flowers are so short-lived but i still like to look at them..

Girl with a Pearl Earring

I've finally sat down to watch the movie Girl with a Pearl Earring. It was a movie I had wanted to watch years ago and it's a story based on the painting above. I was pleasantly surprised by the cast with Colin Firth and Scarlett Johansson and the show was nice.. in a subtle way and with paint and colours and all. I just didn't quite get the ending of the story.
As for the painting, who exactly is the girl in it is pretty much still a mystery.. just like what's going through her mind at that time. Some people called it the Dutch Mona Lisa.. hmm..

friday.. w the end of our posting test, also marks the end of our family medicine posting ;) it has been fun i would say.. because of my tutors, my cg.. the many places we got to visit and the nice pple i met n the nice food i've eaten
but i was scared shitless n q pissed w myself before the test cause i realised i lost my hp aft the yrbook meeting n had to look high n low for it.. luckily nat found my phone.. thnx to all my classmates who helped in one way or another.. during this search.
me py n ser met up for dinner at thai express!
as usual the 3 of us ll order alot of food n eat till we feel extremely full haaa but the food was nice
n we spent q abit of time shopping ard.. n laughing at things..
went to spotlight cause ahtan needed some lace.. n it brought bk memories of object book days at TBPT.

that was friday... sat was q a tiring day cause it was a GP-emed kinda visit for me as my mama had abit of a corneal abrasion.. luckily it's nothing serious but i was visiting docs n WAITING from like 9am-4pm
then went home, touched the floor and grabbed stuff n came out again holding my portable radio n lotsa other things :)
me ser n fel went sentosa! haaaaa
we went giant to shop for food/drinks for dinner n set off using the sentosa express which was very impressive! macam like skytrain at changi airport and the beach station brings us right to siloso beach!
we finally made it there at 6+ just in time to catch the pretty sun set n enjoy the cool breeze by the sea...
sat there n had a nice relaxing time chatting n enjoyed the bread w tuna.. played some jazz music w our radio and watched the sunset.. we also took lotsa fotos and i always had alot of fun being the "photographer" encouraging my frens to pose for me haaa.. there was also the strawberry cream liqueur fel bought from australia and i quite liked it.. reminded me of bailey's or strawberry milk :) sat by the beach all the way till it was dark.. n enjoyed 2 sessions of pretty fireworks n effects from songs of the sea playing in a distance.. the fireworks lit up the dark sky n left swirls of grey smoke in the air which dissipated in the wind.. v pretty!
eventually i experienced q abit of ant bites before we packed up n go for new zealand icecream in a well lit place haa.. sat there playing taboo that was really fun too..
we finally make our way back as the shop was closing and that concluded a lovely chilling out session w them
it's fun just catching up by the sea.. the waves are rhythmic n soothing as always.. even in the dark of the night.

happy birthday.
today is the day i turn 22.
most of my day was spent at bright vision hospital learning about care of patients in community hospital.. the day started w a laugh.. a joke abt dehan eating his breakfast in front of a "vegetarian food only" kinda sign haha...
then there was a table of frens sitting behind me laughing alot and lotsa of eye contact btw my cg mates suggestive of a conspiracy haaaa w little bits of info n high index of suspicion i had some insight into the surprise i was in for
anyway class ended at 4+ then we went for pingpong at jianhong's place haa they r all damn good.. only i damn cui :p haa
then off we went for dinner..
we ate at ah yat abalone restaurant.. saw lotsa 活海鲜! 2 crabs n 1 fish died because we looked at them hai.. but they were delicious.. we had this chinese table w 10 of us (cause gang has appeared!) sitting round a round table.. i felt abit like an old lady celebrating her 大寿 but haa the food was nice n i was really full aft tt... the company was good n there was wine tt felicia brought! thnx guys.. i had alot of fun n enjoyed myself.. hope u guys did.
my gang has always been my important friends and i'm gald they are all here today! huay let's celeb py's bdae w all of us together k
my cg.. haa as i've said time n again, i feel really lucky to b v this cg cause they are real fun n funny pple.. we always laugh over stuff jokes flying in the sky.. n postings are always so enjoyable w them ard.. thnx guys! (me n py are lucky tt all the 3 cgs we had so far are made up of really nice pple tt we can click w n haf fun w)

last nite i was v excited to receive huay's letter from uk :) thnx alot!
today since there's only debrief.. i decided to go for a swim.. the last time i tried it rained cats n dogs so today i was worried my suay-ness n no-affinity-w-sunshine continues and lo n behold.. it started drizzling once i reached the pool but the rain stopped aft i changed but aft my 10th lap.. it started drizzling q heavily i wasnt sure wat to do but no lifeguard was chasing the swimmers out and pple continued swimming.. i guess coz there was no lightning.. so i decided to cont instead of getting drenched in a pool (i already was) it was the first time i was swimming under such conditions.. the strong wind caused q abit of waves haaa n the turbulence reminded me of my obs days trying to kayak away towards the shore w a thunderstorm closing in n the story of Old man n the sea stuck in my head.. haa but well i swam under the overcast sky tt allowed minimal rays frm the sun in.. those i'm nowhere tanner but aching all over ha.
polyclinic posting has come to an end.
i must say bukit merah had been fun.. i really like the doctors there..
doc wong went thru career options w us and it was q educational..
the other sit-in docs (drs T, N, T) i followed were all really nice pple n i felt tt i've learnt stuff from the consultations..
n nice friendly nurses.. esp the wound nurse standing in for DRP nurse who's away.. i'll sit ard at 730am everymorn n she'll either find the key to open rm 42 for me or invite me to join her in her rm or put me in the breastfeeding rm.. haa to scare other nurses when the walk in seeing me sitting on the sofa wondering wth i was doing in there alone. haa (no baby ard)
food's been nice too.. n the nice cooling aircon is always welcoming.. the hot seat blanks ur mind n cause panic attacks but was a good experience.

today i had great fun :) w the judo girls (as usual) heh
it's a get-together n bdae celebration for me :D
altho attendance was 50% 4/8.. but
haaa dinner at nydc w lotsa chatting n laughing was fun
then we went down to open stage @ timbre.. which was hosted by power 98 djs featuring some local bands.. the music was quite good n the last band which we were listening to before we left was b-quartet
haaa the lead singer had this big white t-shirt n almost botak head tt reminded me of allton
he also had a haunting voice, chimp posture n spirit fingers.. n adam sandler face haaaa
but he sang pretty well i think
we had Heineken Buckets of 5 n calamari! and i'm feeling really full now haaaa
last day of my wkend!...
oh i almost forgot.. we were really lucky to see fireworks tonight! just when we stepped out of city hall mrt.. dunnoe wat's the occassion but to b able to zun zun (cha bee hoon) catch the fireworks tt only lasts a couple of mins w our arrival @ city hall was really luck. pretty!

happy birthday to me.it's v nice of xunyu to remember my birthday's coming and got me a slice of cake for a present as she wont b in s'pore on the birthday.

i would say this week at polyclinic was quite an enjoyable experience. the doctors i've met at bukit merah are all v nice and i must say i'm pretty impressed by all the services that are provided at a polyclinic itself.
literally.. taking care of people, from cradle to grave
the DA n immunisation service rotation got me meeting many kids, which was real fun! i realize the thing i missed most abt paeds posting is the kids. haaa i just like to disturb them and my logbk is proof tt even my GP noticed it haa..
i met many other kids this wk, along trains n in shopping malls.. saw this little girl, prob abt a yr old at long john's silver.. her mummy gave her a fry and she went to dip it into the chilli n stuck it into her mouth.. i saw her facial expression which was realli funny n cute.. she started to frown, and then stuck out her tongue in an attempt to get rid of the spicy taste.. her mum realize i was staring n started laughing and i laughed along. then i met a pair of Dads.. 2 prams got pushed onto the mrt and their kids were roughly the same age then they started chatting sharing their experiences and they seemed v happy.. i used to think tt only mummys do tt
domicillary care was q an experience as well.. visiting patients at their home w the nurses who provided home care.. some of they are single men staying in one room flat w no relatives coming to visit.. it's q sad and we get to go into their place, talk to them.. help him prepare one week worth of pills in a pillbox as his vision is deteriorating. we get to see how pple cope, some are really poor and alone, while others fortunately had strong family support. such is life.
today's geri lecture was alot of fun i think.. this doc who came to talk to us was a real funny guy.. all his jokes are not too bad lor.. haha he taught us abt incontience aids and walking aids and other issuses in geriatrics. tut was abit sleep inducing but not too bad too.
i like kids n elderly pple :) but at the same time geriatric patients makes me feel sad sometimes as well... haiz

today marks the end of my GP posting... i guess i could say i have had fun.
our main tutor, Dr L is really a nice man, great example to learn abt communication with the patient i guess, the way he patiently explains to all his patient.. most of them wait up to an hr but they dont seem to mind alot cause they know they still get the same amt of time from him as he doesnt compromise on addressing all his patient's ICE ;)
Dr P is another nice guy.. his comment abt meepok today was damn funny and the way he keeps harping on it haaa.. and he wishes to hear from us via email in one yr's time to ensure tt we got bk to singapore safely haha
KL is the manager who is the funny man.. likes leng xiao hua and steven and 2 other ladies are the clinic assistants and are nurses i think.
Dr L n KL has 4 kids each.. haaa a real good example for singaporeans to have more children haa
So this is the end of my 2 wk GP stint and it isnt terribly exciting or fast paced like A&E but nevertheless u see how a doc can take care of every member of the whole family and know all abt them.. :)
last night i had a great time chilling out w ser n py.. the hungry girls strikes again, w 3 of us eating more than 3 kfc meals haaa and we had tauhuay n nice chai latte at ser's place when we went over... n tan ah bear was as usual so cute and v excited to see us (cause we give off good vibes) and ser's rm looked much neater now haa
