CHP is finally over. i heaved a hugh sigh of relief when the presentation n q&a session concluded today. actually i was q kanchiong before the presentation.. even tho i wasnt a presenter but i must say i think our's the best! hee..

CHP had been fun exciting challenging stressful interesting boring tiring enjoyable and so much more.
it's a real learning experience for me. i learnt abt cofm, other people, and myseslf.
however, the bottom line is i'm glad it's over. finally.

a last note on CHP, just like to thank my whole gp all the hard work, comittment n understanding..
jeremy's my other gpleader.. i think he deserves the most credit.. he led the gp along when i was on MC.. he always has many many interesting ideas and grasp shankar's concepts real fast.. always remind me how to sound more diplomatic.. we're both kinda workaholics who haf no trouble discussing CHP, talking thru every single issue brought up by everyone until wee hrs of the morn.. think the latest was 3+am. and we talk to each other everynight frm 2jan till the end of fieldwork haaa so yep good tt we r both nocturnal. and his last short ppt ans to jinesh/shameer's qn was impressive! i really love it. it's his eloquence and intellect tt got us this far i think.. so thnx jeremy, it's been a pleasure working w him.

then there were the other subgroup leaders tt i haf to lias w cause i was the gp leader.

there was jessica.. my lit review rep who worked real efficiently during my paeds posting right frm the beginning of time after we have settled on the topic. she's the shen in lit review and her knowledge abt all the articles is impressive. and she's also our most impt treasurer.. always keeping track of our finances n buying food for DA team when we worked till 10+.. she's also v articulate n always puts things in perspective..

there was suhui.. my questionnaire rep. haa who was the one who got me to start working in dec.. while i was still going out everyday to haf fun before my GE episode.. he has Professionalism and Vigilance! haaaa ok, let's throw in Integrity as well... thnx for dragging me along to work in dec.. it sure saved us alot of time in jan! and he painstakingly made all the changes to the qn and we had so many many versions aft all those discussion w our tutors!

there was tracy.. my methodology rep.. she picked our random sample w excel! she's real zai w these things.. i'm still pretty clueless abt excel till this day but she n jeremy always knew how to go abt generating numbers and stuff and she's more than the methodology rep.. she worked so hard for everything.. field work, DA etc... haaa it's been fun ya! esp the nite before presentation when we wanted to stab excel in his heart! haaa addding/counting.. and her constant need to run everything w spss heee

there was chihchiang.. my dataentry rep.. i respect the way he protected his dataentry pple and shield them frm alot of work.. he did most of the changes we gave him himself and specifically said i cant touch his pple anymore unless absolutely necessarily aft they finished haa so good for them to have such a protective leader.. and he'll always come when i ask him to for other gp meetings to help out.. all the way frm bishan n i really appreciate it.

there was weidi.. my dataanalysis boss! he likes to call me laobanniang.. but he's boss of DA! he singlehandedly created the first set of dummytables w/in a day and took up the hugh task of collating the data frm all four gps.. running lotsa spss himself to check n explore other possibilites... it's been a pleasure working in his DA team.. and we everything also can shangliang. :)

there was howen.. my presentation rep! he led the presentation team and they actually came up w a presentation tt our tutors are v happy w.. frm the minute details of fontsize fontcolour background.. the exact content and eloquence frm the four presetators.. cause i didnt really work directly w him n aishu i didnt get to know them alot better.. as my bit was more for DA n jeremy covered more for P+P.. but he's real efficient n has his own concepts of how he wans the team to work and started to plan way ahead of time immed aft fieldwork

there was aishu.. my paper rep.. she came up w the headings and structure of the paper even before me n jeremy asked for it and had already lias n discuss w the tutors while we were still working at the front part of the project.. so it was great putting howen n aishu as our P+P rep as they are both v motivated individuals who had a v clear direction as to where they were going.

aft all the reps were mentioned..
there were of course the pple i worked closely w like my fieldwork team.. esp my subgp like mark n qinyong.. i didnt know them at all before this and it's nice to get to know them during CHP.. at first since we dont noe each other we walked ard like 3 silence souls and there wasnt much conversation but towards the end of fieldwork we will chitchat abit n i got to know them better.. they're actually q funny pple and altho we dont work super long hrs on the field but we work v hard n maximize the time we had there.. there v focused and we'll just cover all our gounds in an efficient way and be done. and i liked the way we worked together :)

there was the other 1/2 of team3.. which i dint really work together w but sometimes our paths will cross.. of course there was py who stayed across the rd and we'll together w fq mop up all the left over flats for NC 6 and stuff.. going ard on wkends n late at night knocking on all doors tt didnt wan2 open for us.. there was suhui who gave me a ride n suhui n boontar are neigbours tt sat in the row in front of ours in M2 and we already know each other liao so haa q fun to chat w them when we meet on the field. of coz must mention fuqiang if i tok abt fieldwork.. he kinda covered 3 or more shifts for our 4 male gpmates by accompanying me n py ard the neighbourhood at nite and doing all the NCs for our gp. thnx man.

and fq, siying, mark, boontar, who reported to me on time everynite of fieldwork for collation of results. thnx i really appreciate it.

my dataanalysis subteam.. fuqiang randal weikiong.. haaa all were frens frm last time.. we did the chronic diseases bit which had the most results ending up significant which means we had to go on to stratify and also do all the confounders analysis after tt.. and the hugh trouble of learning how to code for HPT, depression, truly healthy, not truelyhealthy and not hypertensive.. and all sorts of weird things we must rack our brains to code for haa but it's been fun working w them all. randal n wk were my kakis frm csfc days and really miss those days we go ard sgh n find pts and learn examination techniques n presentation together and time each other n correct each other's mistakes. i got chopped frm py in our subgp but i had a real enjoyable time doing med n surg w them! :) they are the work on demand kinda pple.. we'll work to 2-3am just cause presentation team needed more results.. and everything we did's triple checked to ensure all 3 of us get the same numbers before we submit.. the sad bit is we always manually do stuff on spss.. cause dont haf enuff knowledge to get them to do wat we want haaa.. thanx guys for doing all the work!

cant possibly mention all 37 other gp mates here but i had many diff individual experiences working w them and they had been enjoyable! so yup thnx guys.

to the tutors.. thnx to drshankar for his invaluable guidance. i mean it he really guided as along.. teaching us alot of things and answering all our qn so tt we wont b like lost sheep having to figure out many things for the first time.. altho he's abit long winded but i appreciate the fact tt he's v sincere and truly helped us alot.. thankyou.
dr wong for being there at all our meetings and input
prof saw for telling us certain salient points. she wasnt w us alot but i must say tt the things she said were all gd learning pts.

also i went to do my hair on thurs nite!
haaa spent 180 but i'm happy w it so it's all tt matters.. :D thnx eunice for recommending me her hair dresser.. and thnx eric for doing the hair for me..
i kinda chopped off all the permed parts! putting an end to my sponataneous hair-perming-drastic-change-in-hairstyle episode last last nov. i'll miss the little curled bits tt i used to like to play w but str hair's a good try.. but the look i had yest which everyone said nice.. is not easily achievable i think cause the hairdresser styled it for me.. so i must take this wkend n all my days frm now on to experiment n hone my skills! haaa i'll try. it might mean having to scarifice my sleep n wake up 1/2hr earlier to do it.. macam like the troublesome hair-curling-w-styling cream days hee
but 3.5hrs i dyed highlighted cut n treated my hair n went home happy
hope it brings me luck for the new yr la!

yest met up w carmen! so long hafnt seen her le.. really miss her.. and aft we met up i went loitering ard the underground shopping area of raffles place mrt.. miss days shopping there when i interned at ocbc. n i came across this place set up where pple interested in chinese painting and calligraphy were drawing n writing cny-related paintings n wordings to give it for free.. they only encourage u to make a donation to the smrt silver tribute fund.. i was drawn by the crowd n the long queue and was real intrigued when i stood them watching them churn out all the beautiful paintings n calligraphy in front of my eyes.. the chinese paintings reminded me of sec3 days when i went for 水上学堂 travelling along 长江三峡 and learnt a lesson of chinese painting :)
then i went to the calligraphy table and i saw this gentleman in blue who wrote this nice 福 on red paper and i really liked it. tot it would b nice to have it at home this cny n decided to queue for it.. it was a long long queue and i waited abt 1/2 hr before i got there.. before it was my turn, this old gentleman came.. and he wrote for the few pple in front of me.. n i think it's real cool.. so i decided to ask him to write something for me as well..
when he saw me he asked if i were a student and wat was i studying.. and i said yup.. i'm studing medicine.. so in the end he wrote for me:
